Old naturally comes with spoilage and failure in the body's memory and functions. Pains and diseases will come along with age. Body metabolism slows down with age. Female sex reaches the peak growth at the age of 28 years old while the male sex has a slightly longer peak growth at 32 years old. After passing the peak growth age, our body will quickly feel dis-ease whenever we eat or drink something that is not suitable to our body. Example: Our lower back and knee joints can be painful if drinking excess of cold drinks after the peak age. However, a young active teenager may not have the same complaint.
Old age comes with many health problems like Diabetes; Stroke; Hypertension, Cancer and Dementia, etc. which require life-long medical care. The illnesses can come suddenly without any warning but with regular medical checks, the early warning signs can be detected. Sometimes, the tell-tale signs of constant giddiness; thirst and tiredness; changes in skin colour; constant abdominal pains, dark urination and numbness in the arms and swelling of the legs can indicate body dysfunctions.
Old age also comes with positive vitae such as different work experiences; mellow characters; positive advice giver, numerous skills and wisdom, etc.
As death must come after growing old, the old must prepare for the next transition. Planning finance for old age and sickness, proper distribution of assets and wealth if any. Practise meditation and a religion for tranquility. Avoid burdening the younger children for support as they have their personal burdens and families to take care. If work done is minimal, practise consuming less food. This will not overburden the body functions and allow the body to heal itself. Eat only as much as the energy you required. Regular exercises must be carried out but at a less intense pace. Fitness and energy level are in decline. Mix with people of your age to find solace as youngsters have different needs.
The type of burial service must be made known to the family before passing on. The type of religious ritual / cemetery burial / cremation / sea burial (ash) / the place to rest your ash. It is advisable to find a resting place for your ash long before you end your last breath. Prepare a large and two smaller photographs in your best clothing for funeral and registration for your last resting place.
A Will should be drafted if the wealth and assets are to be distributed according to your wish, otherwise the Government will distribute them equally to all surviving immediate family members, Spouse 50% and children 50% or children 100% if spouse is deceased or Surviving Siblings and parents if you died as a single. If you are single, the family of dead sibling(s) are not entitled to the distribution of your estate unless indicated in a Will. It is always with great fairness to distribute equal share to all members of entitlement to ensure no dissatisfaction and disharmony among themselves even though an individual is a bad egg. You will definitely not want to be cursed even in death for being unfair.
