Who is the better fighter ?

A young lady customer once asked whether Ya Wen ( late Bruce Lee's Master ) or Wong Fei Hong was the better fighter. Her father answered that they were from different time and was hard to compare.

As for my opinion, these two good martial art exponents could be best of friends and would not let the world knows the outcome of closed door free sparring. Who was the better exponent did not seem important.

To knock out, lame or even kill your opponent in a few strokes of martial art or in mere seconds can be very outstanding. However, to heal a person of illnesses or injuries will be far more outstanding.

It is far easier to take a life than to heal a life.

Reciprocation

Tit for tat. Never do things to others that you do not want them to do on you. An action has an equal reaction but at a different time.

A good action deserves good reciprocated reward. If rewards are not taken into consideration when doing good deeds then these deeds will become Merits. These merits may be a blessing when the time is ripe.

A stroke person lying in a vegetative state on a bed suffers many more years when the good deeds are converted into rewards in this present life. The rewards are reinstated into this person in the form of extended life span. Ironically, it becomes a torture instead of ripping the rewards and enjoying oneself.

So, do not brag about good deeds. Do not do good deeds for the sake of good returns and rewards.

Thoughts

A person who regularly thinks of problems or possible problems that may arise in future and their solutions will have an edge over sudden problem solver. Although certain problems may be imaginary or have not happen before but it can happen in reality. When they arise, you have the solutions at hand. It is similar to training exercises for natural disasters. Through more training exercises, unexpected and unseen obstacles will appear. Solving all the surface and hidden problems will give all the exercise personnel the skills and efficiency in handling such incident.

The more the thought process, the clearer the problems and solutions come to light. This person will be calm and efficient in handling the problems. The thinking process helps the mind to quick problem solving. Only through mind trainings and also practical trainings, skills and knowledge can be developed.

However if large scale exercise is not possible, mind problem solving is the next best thing available.

Death Calling

Be faithful to your religion and/or righteousness even after the last breath.

If the dying person can realise that death is imminent, release all the anger and hatred within and chant the religious scriptures, sutras or mantras even after the transition to the next life.

Spiritual beings will guard and direct the path to you. Evil Spirits or Devils may disturb the transition. All obstacles passing through the transit world will fall apart to give you a direct journey to your next destination.

A person who has loss consciousness due to stroke or accident may not be able to perform the last critical task of chanting before death. If this person has early knowledge of the above information, even in the unconscious state, the action can still be carried out in the state of spiritual consciousness for recovery or going through the transit world instead of dwelling aimlessly in space.

There is nothing to lose chanting during the dying process but every thing to gain in the next life.

Managing our Life when we grow old

Old naturally comes with spoilage and failure in the body's memory and functions. Pains and diseases will come along with age. Body metabolism slows down with age. Female sex reaches the peak growth at the age of 28 years old while the male sex has a slightly longer peak growth at 32 years old. After passing the peak growth age, our body will quickly feel dis-ease whenever we eat or drink something that is not suitable to our body. Example: Our lower back and knee joints can be painful if drinking excess of cold drinks after the peak age. However, a young active teenager may not have the same complaint.

Old age comes with many health problems like Diabetes; Stroke; Hypertension, Cancer and Dementia, etc. which require life-long medical care. The illnesses can come suddenly without any warning but with regular medical checks, the early warning signs can be detected. Sometimes, the tell-tale signs of constant giddiness; thirst and tiredness; changes in skin colour; constant abdominal pains, dark urination and numbness in the arms and swelling of the legs can indicate body dysfunctions.

Old age also comes with positive vitae such as different work experiences; mellow characters; positive advice giver, numerous skills and wisdom, etc.

As death must come after growing old, the old must prepare for the next transition. Planning finance for old age and sickness, proper distribution of assets and wealth if any. Practise meditation and a religion for tranquility. Avoid burdening the younger children for support as they have their personal burdens and families to take care. If work done is minimal, practise consuming less food. This will not overburden the body functions and allow the body to heal itself. Eat only as much as the energy you required. Regular exercises must be carried out but at a less intense pace. Fitness and energy level are in decline. Mix with people of your age to find solace as youngsters have different needs.

The type of burial service must be made known to the family before passing on. The type of religious ritual / cemetery burial / cremation / sea burial (ash) / the place to rest your ash. It is advisable to find a resting place for your ash long before you end your last breath. Prepare a large and two smaller photographs in your best clothing for funeral and registration for your last resting place.

A Will should be drafted if the wealth and assets are to be distributed according to your wish, otherwise the Government will distribute them equally to all surviving immediate family members, Spouse 50% and children 50% or children 100% if spouse is deceased or Surviving Siblings and parents if you died as a single. If you are single, the family of dead sibling(s) are not entitled to the distribution of your estate unless indicated in a Will. It is always with great  fairness to distribute equal share to all members of entitlement to ensure no dissatisfaction and disharmony among themselves even though an individual is a bad egg. You will definitely not want to be cursed even in death for being unfair.

What is influencing our Life ?

In the descending list which affects or can influence one life is
1. Own life (fixed)
2. Luck cycles (changing)
3. Geomancy
4. Study and knowledge
5. Compassion and Charitable Hearts

Through these forms of modification and changes, our life can be modified. These methods used the assistance of the five elements ie Metal; Wood; Water, Fire and Earth.

However to supersede the governance of the Five elements and the Influence of the Heavens, Earth and Humans on our life,  the practice of EMPTINESS or FORMLESS or NO FORM or 'NOTHINGNESS' is the way. One of the known method to practise EMPTINESS is through Meditation.
