What is the purpose of making an Appointment

The purpose of making an appointment is to bring two or more individuals or parties to a designated location at a specified time.

All individuals involved must know the importance of individuals' precious business time. We must learn to set a manageable time to meet the set appointment.

Do not just estimate the travelling time needed but also include the time for looking for a parking space; the activities in or around the appointed location which may cause expected delay; the public transport availability and travelling time, the road traffic conditions and the weather, etc.

When all factors have been taken into consideration, due to unforeseen circumstances like road jam due to accident and medical emergency, the affected party must immediately inform the appointed party of possible delay. This is a simple gesture of mannerism, duty and responsibility. The show of lateness with a simple apology is poor mannerism. It could indirectly affect the other party's business schedule due to time delay.

In military or politics for example, the lower ranks and files must show up earlier than their superiors. There are different levels of command which have to be observed. This is a show of respect.

In laws and signing of contracts, the failure to attend at the appointed time may ends in cancellation or warrant of arrest in extreme cases.

A mere minute of delay in helping a drown loved one especially, resulting in the loss of life, will become a regret in your entire life.

This is the importance of punctuality; mannerism, duty and responsibility.

The Earth does not revolves around you but you and all living things revolve together with the Earth. Don't do the things to others if you don't want others to do to you. Let there be Wisdow in everyone.
